Acts 1:8 is a 10-week Christian gap semester in Jerusalem focused on Scripture, discipleship, and the land of the Bible.
Students come to study the Bible in the place where many of these events happened, live in intentional community, and build a stronger foundation before what comes next.
Acts 1:8 begins in Jerusalem before moving outward.

There is something significant about studying Scripture in the place where much of it unfolded. The geography, culture, history, and daily life of Jerusalem bring context to the Bible in a way that cannot fully be replicated somewhere else.
This is not simply about travel. It is about understanding Scripture more clearly.
Why Jerusalem

What students do
Students spend ten weeks:
- studying Scripture daily
- walking through the land of the Bible
- living in a small, intentional community
- learning in the context of everyday life in Jerusalem
- growing through discipleship and shared rhythms
The goal is not simply information, but foundation.
Who this is for
Acts 1:8 is designed for students who want to take Scripture seriously and begin well before stepping into what comes next.
Some students come after high school. Others come during college or while reconsidering direction and calling.
Many arrive with the same questions:
What do I believe?
How do I understand the Bible better?
What should I do next?
This semester creates space to wrestle with those questions intentionally.
Life in Jerusalem
This is not a classroom somewhere else.
Students live in Jerusalem during an active and complex season of life in Israel. The city itself becomes part of the experience.
The goal is not isolation from reality, but discipleship within it.
Who are the leaders?
Acts 1:8 Jerusalem is led by Matt and Elizabeth Finch, who have lived in Israel for years and continue to serve through discipleship, teaching, and ministry in Jerusalem.
What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God.
We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, crucified for our sins, risen bodily from the dead, and returning again.
We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers for holy living, witness, and service.
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers, called to worship God, make disciples, and proclaim the Gospel.
We believe men and women are equally created in the image of God and equally valuable in His sight, each gifted by the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church.
We believe Scripture teaches distinct roles within the church and the family, and that the office of the overseer is reserved for qualified men as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, eternal life through Christ, and the final judgment.
Final Note
This semester is not designed just for touring.
It is designed to help students build a stronger foundation in Scripture before whatever comes next.
Many students arrive asking the same questions about faith, direction, and what comes next after high school.
